The main frame of the cabinet is made from solid black walnut which was then oiled, the doors and cladding are made from brushed stainless steel sheet. The doors I made from single sheets which were folded into shallow pans and I then cut out holes for the glass with a jigsaw and hand finished with files and fine emery cloth and satin mopped.

Shagreen Tallboy

The Shagreen Tallboy was a collaboration between Emma Peascod and myself. Emma is a specialist in verre églomisé techniques and she crafted all the beautiful glass panels for the cabinet. A pattern based on the skin of rays was screen printed onto the glass and then she applied gold, copper and silver leaf to emulate the colours of the stone floor in the room where the cabinet is installed.
