I made this new top for a Conran table frame by wrapping marine plywood top with 1mm zinc metal sheet and soldering the edges. As it was going outside I wanted to stop the zinc sheet from separating from the plywood when heated up by the sun, a solution to this was to stitch it down with 3mm soft copper wire.

I drew out a repeat pattern for the stitches so they worked together and met well on the corners before marking up, drilling and then sewing it on with the copper thread.
