Nocturne Workshop is based on the idea that the best form always follows function. Our lamps are made with a simple, industrial aesthetic in mind, but are nevertheless luxurious in colour, finish and design.
Our materials, brass, sustainably-sourced hard-woods and aluminium are used to construct lamps to the highest level of craftsmanship and, designed to last, age beautifully over time.
Nocturne was established by Simon Day in 2011. From its workshop in Manchester, a team of specialist craftspeople make all of our lamps to order, drawing their inspiration from architecture, industry, workshop machinery and the 20th-century design sensibilities of companies and designers such as Kandya, Stag and PEL, Ernest Race, Frank Guille, Eileen Gray and Jean Prouve.
Prior to founding Nocturne, Simon designed and made lighting and furniture for Phillips and Wood and Cox London.

Our workshop is regularly commissioned to design and make bespoke feature lighting, mirrors and furniture for clients in the retail, hospitality, corporate and design sectors, and we also often collaborate with other workshops and craftspeople to create new work of the finest quality.
